Llanbadarn Odwyn
A remote, isolated church, commanding views of the upper Aeron valley, near the Roman road, Sarn Helen, which connected Carmarthen with north Wales.
The church is dedicated to St Padarn. It was rebuilt in 1872, but the building may conceal medieval remains.

St Padarn’s main cult site was at Llanbadarn Fawr near Aberystwyth. The Latin Life of Padarn tells us that he came from Brittany and contended with the local ruler Maelgwn. He then accompanied St David on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
The text appears to borrow details from the Life of Paternus, a bishop of Vannes who is considered as one of the seven founding-saints of Brittany, apparently conflating the two figures.
